Kovtun O. Functional-semantic correlation of conjunctions and conjuctive complexes in the modern Ukrainian literary language

This dissertation presents novel investigation of the functional-semantic correlation of conjunctions and conjunctive complexes in the modern Ukrainian literary language. In it criteria of distribution of conjunctive complexes are defined. Their functional identity against the background of complicated conjunctions is established. Major structural and semantic types of conjunctive complexes of complex and compound sentences in comparison with appropriate conjunctions are characterized. Basic factors and ways of formation of conjunctive complexes are determined. Functional-stylistic areas of their usage in the modern Ukrainian literary language are outlined.
