Essay

This thesis is the research of key content factors which determine the formation of the image of Ukraine by the journalists of the websites of newspapers "The Times", "The Guardian", and "The Independent" (September 2004-December 2009). Having moved into the realm of Internet-versions, and thus, addressing even wider audiences, these newspapers managed to preserve the values and achievements of traditional British newspaper journalism. The articles under study were divided into four thematic groups - political, socio-economic, cultural and the one dealing with the personalities of Ukrainians. Deep understanding of facts, thorough analysis of what has been going on in Ukraine, as well as, the opportunity to openly express one's thoughts and provide various expert evaluations of events within one website have generated an interesting kaleidoscope of information, points of view and opinions concerning Ukraine on the pages of analyzed newspapers.
