Object of research: the state financial control in Ukraine. Objective: To study the theoretical approaches to the modernization of the organizational and legal mechanism of state control and the development of practical recommendations to improve its efficiency and effectiveness. Methods: the analysis and synthesis, modeling, abstraction and generalization, a comparative analysis. Results: grounded approaches to the modernization of the organizational and legal mechanism of the state financial control in Ukraine and develop practical recommendations for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of its operation. Novelty: the directions of modernization of the financial cooperation of the State Inspectorate of Ukraine with local authorities. Introduced in the activities of the Department of Budget and Finance Executive Committee of the Kharkiv City Council and Kharkiv unified state financial inspection. Sferyi application: public administration, local government, training and retraining of civil servants, local government officials.
