The teaching methodology of forming the English language competence in reading in the process of the learning web-site usage has been theoretically substantiated and practically elaborated. The content of forming the English language competence of future engineers in reading has been defined; the hypertext as a form of a professionally oriented text and its linguistic, stylistic peculiarities have been analyzed; the didactic principles of the learning web-site usage have been determined. Hypertexts have been selected according to the formulated criteria on the basis of the developed theoretical statements; learning stages have been defined and a system of exercises for forming the English language competence of future engineers in reading has been created. A learning process model has been created. The experimental teaching has proved the effectiveness of the developed method. Guidelines for the organization of the process of forming the English language competence of future engineers in reading in the process of the learning web-site usage have been framed.
