Essay

The thesis studies the EU policy on providing official development aid (ODA), conceptions, mechanisms and methods of EU aid, and the ways of increasing the efficiency of providing and using this aid. It is proved that the use of scientific implications of political problems of global development contributes to more efficient policy on providing and using international aid. The trends of evolution of the EU and other donors' (firstly, EU Member States) approaches to providing ODA are outlined. The criteria of aid efficiency are defined.
