The role of official allowances and additional payments as the forms of realization of the incentive function of payment for labor is defined in the dissertation investigation and the proposals on the improvement of current legislation with a view to enhance the role of official allowances and additional payments in implementation of incentive function of payment for labor are also worked out here. Retrospection of labor legislation development in the part of norms devoted to realization of incentive function of payment is carried out in this dissertation. The structure of payment for labor is reviewed and the place of the official allowances and additional payments in it is determined.
