Essay

On the basis of sonographic visualization and neuro-stimulation verification catheterization of perineural space of femoral nerve has been carried out. Criteria demonstrative femoral blockade have been developed. Taking into consideration the analysis of application results 'classical' methods of anesthesia, neuroaxial and regional blockades, it has been found that prolonged epidural blockade provides the best quality of anesthesia during the first three days in state of rest and prolonged femoral blockade is applied during early rehabilitation.The application of the method of prolonged femoral blockade is substantiated by surgeries of total replacement in elderly patients in the presence of less side effects that improve quality of patients' life.
