Sotnikov D. Clinicodiagnostic criteria of differential approache to migraine preventive treatment

In dissertation work we studied the migraine prevalence among the population of Sumy region (11.9%) and peculiarities of its clinical course depending on form of the disease, age and sex of a patient. It was found that female aged 30 and more with chronic form of the disease have tendency to anxious depressive disorders. Migraine influence upon life quality components of patients with lower level of psychological health than physical was analyzed. Differential approach to preventive treatment assignment was developed. In cases of frequent attacks with marked cephalgic syndrome or concomitant anxious depressive disorders and for chronic migraine treatment chosen medicine are Amitriptyline and Proprenolon in combination. In cases of protracted attacks especially among males and patients with allodyny its appropriate to prescribe Gabapentin. Migraine with aura are to be treated with Lamotrigine.
