Essay

The thesis is devoted to the problem of realization of correlation of the semantic and procedural components of teaching Geography in comprehensive school. It's been substantiated that transition from traditional "knowledge-oriented" paradigm to person-oriented methods of teaching Geography in comprehensive school is impossible without providing integrity of the process of the education in dynamic unity of its elements: its target, semantic, procedural and effective ones. It's been distinguished that semantic-procedural approach - a complex of the methodological approaches aimed at analysis and substantiating of the basic nature of the internal factors, links, contradictions and tendencies of the schooling process is a mechanism of thecorrelation of the semantic and procedural components and volume of any in an integral process on each stage of teaching Geography in the comprehensive school. It's been created a pattern of correlation of the semantic and procedural components of teaching school geographical courses. It's been established that specially created methodological approaches on which depends the quality of educational process in Geography are methodological conditions of the pattern's functioning.
