Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of pragmatic and stylistic features of the texts of rhetorical discourse the Republican period of Rome. Rhetorical discourse is analyzed as a special type of communication with its own characteristic features, and genre and representatives. It is defined the place of rhetorical discourse in the system of functional styles. The thesis analyzes speakers' intentions, specific communication strategies and their implementation. Basic lexical, morphological, syntactical, stylistic figures of rhetorical discourse of republican Rome are examined.
