In the thesis an actual scientific and technical problem of improving the stability of capital workings for Central Donbas coal mines is solved. The analysis of the costs associated with maintaining mine workings is made. Full-scale, laboratory and analytical studies of the stress-strain state of rock mass at different placement of objects in relation to mining coal seam and hard rocks, as well as at the using different ways of workings' sustainability providing. Design schemes and algorithm for the numerical modeling of geomechanical processes that occur within the working, which crosses the geological dislocation, are developed. Regularities obtained as a result of the study researches were used to develop recommendations on providing of main workings stability for geological and geomechanical conditions of the Public stock company "Shahtoupravlenie "Pokrovskoe"".
