Essay

The object of the research is osteoporosis in operated patients in late terms after stomach resection due to complicated peptic ulcer. The aim is to improve treatment efficacy in patients with remote complications after stomach resection, combined with osteoporosis, on the basis of study of causes and features of disorders of calcium metabolism in these patients. Methods - clinical, laboratory, instrumental, statistical. Novelty - the comprehensive analysis of the pathological changes of musculoskeletal system in late terms after stomach resection in first presented in the thesis. Realizing investigations indicatives that gastrectomy have an important influence on musculoskeletal system. Оn the basis of complex evaluation of 164 men, in their middle and old age, it was stated to the majority of scheduled operated patients in late terms after resection of the stomach due to complicated peptic ulcer disease, with accompanied affection of the bone lead to generalized osteoporosis. We studied their dependence on age, clinical variant of peptic ulcer disease, the type and volume of resection, presence postgastrectomy disease. It was discovered the structural and functional state of bone tissue in these patients, presence risk factors, postoperative lesions of other digestive organs, the features of hormone-metabolic homeostasis. Most patients with osteoporosis had bed habits (smoking, excessive alcohol and coffee intake) and diseases of the digestive system which presents of malabsorption and maldigestion. Also we exposed in these patients the imbalance of hormones that regulate electrolyte and protein homeostasis. In our opinion these scientific facts have an important role in pathogenesis of osteoporosis in men after stomach resection. The complex differentiated treatment with the correction of hormonal and metablolic homeostasis and with eliminating complex causes of osteoporosis is more effective from the standard treatment. The results of the research have been introduced into medical institutions, scientific and educational process. The field is medicine.
