Essay

The scientific research concerns pathogenetic peculiarities of tuberculosis in the background of genetic polymorphism of the pathogen (Beijing genetic family) and host (GSTT1 and GSTM1 polymorphisms). Molecular-genetic studies of DNA obtained from M. tuberculosis starins and patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, biophysical studies of exhaled air condensate, plasma and urine of patients by laser correlation spectroscopy, analysis of medical records were conducted. It was detected that infection with pathogens of Beijing family is characterized by severe course of disease with a predominance of disseminated form of disease, increased duration of bacterial excretion and worth intermediate results of treatment, allowing infection by strains of the family to be considered as the poor prognostic factor of the disease. The significant contribution of GSTTM1 polymorphism in the development of destruction foci in the lungs and combination of tuberculosis with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, accompanied by emphysema, bronchitis and respiratory failure were estimated. The features of the spectra of exhaled air condensate in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis and the possibility of laser correlation spectroscopy method for prediction of the outcomes of the disease were studied.
