The purpose dissertation work is to reduce the operational costs associated with the organization of freight wagon flow in the train, by which improved of operational management making-up the trains. The specified purpose is achieved through the rapid by forming double-unit trains for free assignments on the basis of the regulatory plan of formation. For the first time a procedure for assessing the operational decisions concerning the formation of a forming double-unit train, which has reduced costs associated with making-up the trains. First obtained to determine the functional dependence of the total cost of wagon-hours of downtime during by forming double-unit train at the headend station and exchange of wagon units. For the first time identified areas of rational application of technology options for the exchange of units of wagons passing on the technical stations, depending on the influencing factors. All this has reduced to 7-19% of the cost of organizing wagon flow without additional capital investment.
