Ovcharuk V. Thelyaziosis of cattle Pollissya region of Ukraine (spreading, diagnostics, treatment)

The material of researches on epizootology thelyaziosis of cattle in the farms of Polissya region of Ukraine with the determination of seasonal and regional features have been informed. It has been proved the causative agent of disease in cattle in Polissya region of Ukraine is Thelazia rhodesi. Intermediate host of Th. rhodesi is Musca autumnalis. The total carriage amount flies up 68,3 %. Clinical signs of disease have been researched. Acute running of disease with morphological and biochemical changes and immunological characteristics of blood has been proved in affected animals. Leukocytosis, eosinophilia, changes in leukocytes content has been proved by the action of round worms Th. rhodesi. The indexes of metabolism are changed under invasion of Th. rhodesi. Was determined the functional and structural changes in cattle body occurred by toxins of Th. rhodesi. Histological changes сonjunctiva in cattle under thelyaziosis have been proved. The intensity of penetration microorganisms on mucous membranes of eyes (сonjunctiva) contaminated Th. rhodesi in animals has been determined. The high efficiency antigelmintic drugs against Th. rhodesi producer by SPF “Brovapharma” have been investigated on spontaneous thelasiosis of cattle. “The method of combined protection cattle eyes against attack of flies and prophylaxis of thelyasiosis” has been created.
