Opara N. Tretiakov S. (1872-1918) - the scientist and organizer of the agricultural research in agronomy in Ukraine

The object of research is formation and development of agricultural experiments in farming of Ukraine in the end of ХІХ - beginning of ХХ centuries. The object of research is Tretyakov's life, scientific, organizational and social activity. Having begun his scientific activities on Poltava research field as an assistant-director and then as a director, then he became the head of Poltava agricultural research station, which was created on the basis of the research field. He devoted all his life to the foundation and development of this scientific institution, having contributed greatly to the development of agrarian science in Ukraine. Multidimensional nature of scientific research of the agrarian scientist, his organizational abilities and active social activities need to be investigated in all the aspects. Considerable number of documental materials, covering the scientific heritage of the candidate of natural sciences S. Tretiakov, his importance for the agrarian sector of the Ukrainian State have been analyzed, systemized and included into the scientific rotation for deepening historically scientific investigations.
