fields of air saturation deficit in the climatic conditions of Ukraine in the late XX - early XXI century. For the first time in Ukraine a comprehensive scientific study of the spatial and temporal distribution of saturation deficit, particularly in the last twenty years is conducted. Relationships between anomalies of temperature and saturation deficit on the different intervals of the deviations are studied, typical synoptic situations during long positive anomalies saturation deficit are investigated. The technique of saturation deficit forecast for the period 5 - 7 days using an improved model WRF is suggested. The peculiarities of it's diurnal and annual variations in the territory of Ukraine, the spatial distribution of the amplitudes, the variability, the influence of physical and geographical conditions, particularly features of its application for the characterization of drought conditions, etc. were studied in detail. Climate forecast charts (nomograms) for different natural zones of Ukraine were created for agro-climatic problems. In addition, an assessment of trends of monthly mean saturation deficit series are conducted, growing of the aridity of the Ukrainian climate was found. In the studies the simulation method was used for the first time for estimation of the dependence of the saturation deficit of altitude, latitude and longitude location separately for flat and mountainous territory of Ukraine. The contribution of annual variation long- and short-period oscillations in the total variance of monthly series of average saturation deficit is characterized. The features of temporal transformation of the saturation deficit fields are studied, using the index of the similarity of the fields. An assessment of the influence of the North Atlantic Oscillation and the Wolf numbers on the distribution of the saturation deficit field is conducted.
