The dissertation presents a complex scientific research on theoretical and practical problems of assignment of additional punishments according to criminal law of Ukraine. The history of development of national criminal legislation that regulates the relationships in the domain of assignment of additional punishments was studied. National and foreign criminal legislation in the indicated domain was compared. The social essence and legal nature of additional punishment were investigated. The concept of assignment of additional punishments was defined.
