Essay

The work is dedicated to development of methodological and organizational approaches, improving methods and technologies for the realization of a multilevel system of remote monitoring of soil erosion risk. It is proposed modern classification of methods of soil erosion investigation where complex application of remote sensing is envisaged. Methodology of identification of natural and anthropogenic changes of territory using space images is proposed. By the means of GIS analysis it is performed the assessment of global models of the Earth's surface. It is proposed methodology of series of maps creation for local watersheds, flow accumulation, slope, length and slope exposure, which are crucial for determination of numerical parameters of erosion models. The new solution is application of index vegetation maps obtained from the multispectral satellite images to calculate the factor of land use C. For implementation of monitoring on subregional, sublocal and detailed levels the methods of terrestrial digital survey and aerial survey have been improved.
