Shvarsalon M. Description of the sanitary protection system of territory of Ukraine from especially dangerous infectious diseases and ways of its improvement.

Dissertation is devoted to the study of the territory sanitary protection system in a historical context and on the modern stage, and to the determination of directions of its improvement in Ukraine. The stages of formation of the international control system of especially dangerous diseases' spreading are described. The estimation of distribution of points of entry to Ukraine by administrative territories and transport types' significance as factors that can influence the import of especially dangerous infections (EDI) is conducted. The informational and analytical systems of two groups of infectious diseases according to the 2005 International Health Regulations (IHR) are created with the model of highly pathogenic avian influenza (1st group) and plague (2nd group). The stages of spreading of HPAI (A/H5N1) in the world are described; different importance of wild bird's migration routes in such spreading is identified. . Conducted comparative analysis of new 2005 IHR principles and Rules of territory sanitary protection of Ukraine and results of the use of created informational and analytical systems allowed reasonably to define directions of improvement of the system of territory sanitary protection of Ukraine on the modern stage.
