Essay

The physical mechanisms of the influence of aqueous solutions of thioglycolic acid, sodium laurylsulfate and alkali solution of NaOH on the fibrillar proteins: keratin and fibroin fibers was study by several experimental methods of research such as wide-angle and small-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD, SAXD), acoustical interferometry, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and IR-FT spectroscopy A model of microfibril of fibrillar biopolymer was proposed. It is proved that the protein fibers in contact with solutions of solvent molecules diffusing in the fiber ends up mainly in intrafibrillar unordered area.
