Object – multiple sclerosis; methods – general clinical, clinical-neurological, instrumental, clinical-epidemiological, statistical; novelty – it was the first time we had received a verified data about prevalence and incidence multiple sclerosis in the population of Vinnitsa region and a structure of reasons for hospitalizations due to the disease using a Case Register Method, refined a representation of the leading risk factors for multiple sclerosis in the studied population; also it was given in detail a prognostic significance of several clinical and demographic factors for the early identification of patients in risk group relatively the progression rate of neurological deficit and forming of the negative dynamics of quality of life; additionally it was studied the prevalence and structure of comorbidity in patients with multiple sclerosis, their influence onto progression of the symptoms and quality of life in patients with multiple sclerosis; it was investigated for the first time the ability to have an influence upon the quality of life of patients with multiple sclerosis; results – grounding of directions and determination of measures to improve clinical management, dispensary observation and the quality of life of patients with multiple sclerosis; field – medicine.
