Essay

Subject of inquiry is the utilization of blast furnace slag dump, fuel ash waste and rock refuse of coal extraction as technogeneous raw materials in building materials manufacture. Thesis objective is the justification and development of directions of technogeneous raw materials use in manufacture of building materials by combining of their environmental and resource aspects of large industrial waste utilization to provide ecological safety. Research methods: X-ray diffraction, petrographic, gamma-spectrometric, derivatografic, spectrophotometric, titrimetric analysis and electron probe microanalysis were used to study the composition and properties of technogeneous raw materials, and methods of mathematical statistics - for processing and analysis of experimental data. Theoretical and practical results: the ecologically safe resource saving technologies of utilization of industrial waste as a technogeneous raw materials in binder's production were developed and scientifically based; the methods for the purpose of providing radiation safety during the use of building materials with containing the technogeneous raw materials were worked out. Novelty of the research: the variation of elemental, oxide, mineralogical and radionuclide composition of industrial waste fractions was determined; the database of resource-rich minerals and natural radionuclides content in technogeneous raw materials was expanded; the criteria of ecologically safe utilization of technogeneous raw materials in binders production were scientifically based; for the first time the correlation between the degree of the particle surface loosening, the fraction of the amorphous phase and sorption activity fractions of technogeneous raw materials was determined; for the first it was proved that in order to provide ecological safety it is necessary to extract a single resource-rich and radiation safety fraction of industrial waste during utilization in binders production; the research area for the radiation safety during the use of building materials with containing the technogeneous raw materials was further developed. Implementation extent: the composition of cement clinker raw mix with using of coal extraction dump unburnt rock was devised and implemented at "Kharkiv Experimental Cement Plant"; the complex binder composition with using of coal extraction dump burnt rock was developed and implemented at the "MATECO" enterprise; the method of calculating the maximum slag content in multi-building materials was implemented at the "Geomax" enterprise; the method is used in production of slag blocks with using of ash waste; the total economic effect of technological developments implementation constituted 23000 UAH. Range of application: providing the ecological safety of building materials with including of technogeneous raw materials.
