The dissertation deals with the problem of designing the content of the discipline "Medical Informatics" in higher medical education.The extent of problem development in scientific and educational literature was investigated. On base of historical and genesis analysis periodization of development stages and content of medical informatics in medical education system was carried out, concepts of informatics training of future doctors in the domestic and foreign systems of medical education were analyzed.Content of medical informatics was didactically substantiated, the principles, design criteria for the content of medical informatics were defined. The medical informatics content designing was performed at the levels of software documentation and methodological support of discipline.The content-structural model of medical informatics in the system of future doctors' undergraduate training was developed, and its effectiveness was verified by educational experiment.
