Essay

The dissertation is the first complex investigation of the history of the church protection of historical and cultural monuments in the Crimea. Based on an extensive amount of archival materials, data, periodicals, works of the clergy, examined aspects of the participation of the Orthodox clergy in the protection and promotion of monuments of the Crimea, and studied the factors affecting the degree of involvement of priests in this process. Denotes the degree of contribution of the Orthodox clergy in the study of the antiquities of Crimea. It is proved that the clergy were active participants in the cultural heritage of the Crimea in the pre-Soviet period.
