Essay

The thesis is devoted to the development of the immittance method for water hardness measurement, providing at the same time the invariance of the result under the factors of influence, which do not influence hardness, however can change conductivity. The dependences of active and reactive constituents of water admittance with different level of hardness at the permanent level of amplitude of test signal on the frequency in the set range were researched. The water impedance was examined as a multiple-unit impedor; the dependences of the immittance parameters of a cell filled with water, on the frequency of test signal were made and analyzed. The correlation of physical and chemical features of water with electric parameters was examined. There was discovered that with the increase of frequency susceptance grows to the certain moment and then begins to fall. Such tendency is observed for water of different hardness. In a frequency range the obtained dependences are characterized by extreme values on certain frequencies, thus the value of each frequency depends on the level of water hardness. The structure of the device, which can implement the method of water hardness measurement in automatic mode, is introduced.
