Essay

The thesis is devoted to the actual scientific problem - decrease of the frequency of obstetric complications in women with metabolic syndrome. Clinical features of pregnancy and childbirth in 105 patients (70 with metabolic syndrome (according to the International Diabetes Federation definition, 2005) and 35 practically healthy) has been analyzed. Processes of lipid peroxidation, levels of inflammations markers in the serum and the structure of the placenta in pregnant women with metabolic syndrome has been investigated. The existence of correlation between the risk of obstetric complications and the activity of oxidative stress and systemic inflammatory response in these women has been established. Possibility of L-arginine aspartate application for the correction of obstetric complications in metabolic syndrome has been pathogenetically substantiated. Method of pregnant women management has been work out and its clinical efficiency has been evaluated.
