Essay

The author makes a functional-semantic analysis of modern church pastorals as a Ukrainian language religious style genre. The background of formation of the modern religious pastoral is investigated. The dissertation describes communicative peculiarities and structural-semantic organization of modern church pastorals. The author studies the role of intertextual elements in the notional structure of modern church pastorals and determines the peculiarities of language etiquette units functioning in the pastoral genre and the dominant lexical-semantic fields of Easter and Christmas pastorals.
