The dissertation is dedicated to the complex research of essence and peculiarities of economic and legal regulation of contractual obligations of innovative character. The analysis of the notional and categorical apparatus in the innovation field has been performed. The genesis of formation and development of contractual obligations of innovative character has been researched and the current state of their economic and legal regulation has been analyzed. The notion of "contract of innovative character" and its constitutional features have been defined. Contracts of innovative character have been classified. Legal nature of certain types of contracts of innovative character has been disclosed. The scientific conclusions and proposals concerning improvement of legislation in the field of legal regulation of contractual obligations of innovative character have been formulated.
