Nakashydze I. The problem of the motherland in the work of Ukrainian-Canadian poets (second half of the 20th century.)

The object of the creativity of Ukrainian-Canadian poets of the late 20th century. The aim of the thesis is to define the specificity of art expression of the concept of the motherland in the creativity of Ukrainian-Canadian poets of the late 20th century. Methods used in the research are analytical, comparative, hermeneutic and aesthetic. The novelty of the thesis is in the collection, systematisation and analyse of the lyrics of Ukrainian-Canadian poets of the late 20th century; the theme of the "second" homeland in creativity of poets-emigrants is defined, its perception evolution is allocated – from "foreign land" to "homeland" and the character of its artistic realisation is considered. The results of the research conducted may be applied at studying the historic-literary process in Ukraine and diaspora, aesthetic creativity principles of Ukrainian-Canadian poets, teaching of a course of history of the Ukrainian literature of abroad, within special courses and seminars, writing course, degree and master works at philological faculties at the higher educational establishments and the conclusion of corresponding sections of textbooks of Ukrainian literature of 20th century. The field is the philology.
