Object - prosocial behaviour; objective - investigation of the motivation of prosocial behavior in the students' age and definition paths its development, methods - theoretical and methodological analysis, methods of capture of empiric data (interview, questioning, questionnaires, testing); systematization and generalization of psychological information, theoretical design, mathematical statistics methods; novelty - the predictors of prosocial behavior in late adolescence (anticipated regret, moral norms, feelings and emotion felt, self-efficacy) and its connection with the presence of blood donation experience were first identified; first discovered motives of blood donation among students, psychological barriers to donation, facilitating factors of blood donation. The view on age differences in motivation of prosocial behavior of late adolescence and adult donors was expanded. The role of blood donation experience in the motivation of prosocial behavior was discovered. The view on personal peculiarities (high meaningfulness of life, emphatic abilities, internality) of students, who are ready for implementation of prosocial act (blood donation) was expanded. The tools for psychodiagnostics of motivation of prosocial behavior were improved by the creation of the methods for determination of several motivation components, such as intention, attitude, social norm, subjective behavioral control. The tools for the promotion of prosocial behavior in university students were further developed. These tools were based on the creation of the program aimed to correct and form the psychological characteristics that lead to the intention of prosocial act implementation. The results - cover the extension of the concept of motivation of prosocial behavior, the thorough study of the psychological characteristics of blood donation as a form of such behavior; the increase of knowledge about the components of donor behavior; the improvement of views on the tools for prosocial behavior development in late adolescence; the results may be useful for the creation of the blood donation promotion system within the public blood services as well as may be used by non-profit organizations during the donor actions; field of science - psychology
