Essay

The object of research is the cycles by N. V. Gogol "Evenings Near the Village of Dikanka" and "Mirgorod". The aim is to determine the specific character, role and functions if literary time and space in the cycles by N. V. Gogol "Evenings Near the Village of Dikanka" and "Mirgorod" and to find out peculiarities of artistic organization of spatio-temporal picture of the world in the writer's first collected stories. The research methods are: system-oriented analysis, chronotopical analysis, historical-functional approach and typological approach. The results and novelty: for the first time the synthesis of chronotopes in the storybook "Mirgorod", relevant kinds of time and space (toposes, locuses and microlocuses), kinds of chronotopes and microchronotopes in the cycle "Evenings Near the Village of Dikanka" have been singled out and investigated, there have also been determined their role and functions in the first cycles by N. V. Gogol. The field of application: the courses of the Russian Literature History of the XIXth century and the courses, dedicated to the investigation of N. V. Gogol's creative work and poetics of literary time and space.
