Essay

The thesis studies the history of Transcarpathian newspapers, magazines and calendars design of 1919-1944 from the point of view of form-building and stylistic aspects which had been formed under the influence of cultural, technical, economical, political and social factors. The thesis reveals the development of such trends as classicism, eclecticism, "art and craft", poster style, "De Stijl"; futurism trend; modern style, realism, constructivism and art deco. Authorship of works which appear in Transcarpathian media has been established. It belongs to such artists as J. Bokshay, M. Fedorko, I. Rusenko, Y. Virag, N. Silvay, V. Koroliv (Staryj), F. Manajlo, V. Krychevskyy, and others.
