Material of epistolary writers of the end of XIX - to the beginning of XX centuries (I. Franko, Lesya Ukrainka, M. Kocyubinsky, B. Lepky, V. The motivational base of self-editing, presented by human and objective factors is analyzed. Outlined row of approaches in relation to an analysis and correction of own text by authors. Is given place and specific of self-editing in the structure of text-making writers-classics, stereotypes are selected in their prosecution of text.
