Vitruk N. Single-member nominal sentences in the Ukrainian language: structure and function

Single-member sentences of subjective type were studied and the views of scientists on their essence and syntactic status were analyzed. Their correlation with functional areas of language was established in the paper, and the functional-semantic expressions in the communication process were outlined. Single-member sentences of subjective type were described in the thesis, morphological features of their subject and of other possible structural components were discovered. The thematic groups were singled out according to the lexical-semantic content of the main member of subject sentences of representation and address in the literal and figurative senses. Their role in the creation of stylistic figures is also examined.
