The dissertation carries out a comprehensive study of the system of professional orientation of schoolchildren. The basic theoretical approaches to studying the system of professional orientation have been analyzed and particular attention have been paid to defining the essence of the professional orientation of schoolchildren, its functions, features and concepts. The terms of primary and secondary professional orientation reflecting the processes of pre-professional and professional orientation have been suggested. The theoretical model of the professional self-determination of schoolchildren has been made up. Relying on the conducted empirical observations of professional self-determination of schoolchildren.
