Syshkevych T. Features of the Composition of P. Zahrebelny’s Novels about Kyiv Rus

The thesis is dedicated to study of composition features of Pavlo Zahrebelniy’s novels about Kievan Rus. These features indicate writer’s subject-compositional innovativeness in Ukrainian XX century historical novel genre. The compositional originality of Zahrebelny’s novels about Kievan Rus is caused by the composition techniques (assemblage, comparison and contrast, narrative models, detalization, generalization, accumulation in events description, reticence, repeats and variations, time structure of the texts) and functions. This originality is connected with content of the novels, logic of described events, and author’s concept. Based on particularity of fable-plot level sources, typology of plots and structure of plots, compositional motives in the works of “Kievan Rus” cycle the novels storyline modification is founded as a factor of the composition’s features.
