Essay

During the research work an attempt was made to determine and characterize peculiarities and dominant typological features in the works of "the generation of the 90th" based upon literature written by the famous contemporary Russian writers Pavel Sanaev, Roman Senchin and Zakhar Prilepin. It was proved that despite the fact that these writers represent three different literary styles, they are united by a number of typological features that are common for the whole "generation of the 90th". In this thesis the scientific and critical perception of this cultural generation in the context of modern literary process was generalized. Furthermore, from this study the typology of the characters and the inter-textual circle of creative works peculiar to this generation of writers was determined. Key words: realism, postmodernism, intertextuality, style, genre, autoreception, subculture, irony.
