Shevchenko K. Etymological doublets in the Ukrainian language.

The object of dissertation is etymological doublets in the Ukrainian language. The purpose of dissertation is to define the basic characteristics of the etymological doublet and the description of etymological doublets in the Ukrainian language. The following methods are used in the research: descriptive method, method of analysis of lexical definitions, componential analysis, distributional analysis, formalization and quantitative method. The dissertation is devoted to the definition of basic parameters and methods of description of etymological doublets, i.e. etymologically identical units that exist within a single language. The author defines the status of etymological doublets among related phenomena. The features of actual and historical identity and actual differences as the basic components of etymological doublet were characterized, methodology of description of etymologically identical units was worked over, frontal description of etymological doublets in the Ukrainian language was carried out. Models of actual identity of nominatheme-source are defined in the research, on the basis of which etymological doublets in the Ukrainian language, models of language interaction in their formation, models of the formation of final relationships between the etymological doublets in the Ukrainian language appeared. The author went into the issue of a language entry structure for "Dictionary of etymological doublets in the Ukrainian language" and implemented it in a "short dictionary of etymological doublets in the Ukrainian language ", presented in the appendix to the dissertation. The sphere of use is academic activity.
