Lukyanova H. Complementary-holistic Concept of Law-under¬standing (Aspects of the General Theory).

In dissertation the general-theoretical deliberate analysis of the original, initial category of jurisprudence – law-understanding, or understanding the essence of law is carried out, the role and place of this category in the system of legal sciences are defined, the most important types of law-understanding that are classified in the modern theory of law are described, the essence of understanding law as a kind of cognitive activity is elucidated, the significance of the methodological research of synthesis features of law-understanding types as awareness of legal reality in the light of legal theories, doctrines and concepts is accentuated. A great attention is paid to substantiation of general-theoretical aspects of complementary-holistic concept of law-understanding as a new direction in the development of native legal thought. It is proved that this concept is a holistic way to scientific understanding the essence of law as a system historical and cultural phenomenon that appears in the form of continuous social communication and has textual (semiotic), axiological, phenomenological, functional and active components.
