Object: the social construction of sports. Aim: the development of the concept of the social construction of sports by means of the mass communication media. Methods of research: analysis and synthesis, typologization, system analysis, content analysis, secondary analysis of sociological research, methods of statistical analysis. Theoretical and practical results: the integral methodology of research of the problems of the social construction of sports by means of the mass communication media has been developed. Novelty: the elaboration of conceptual frameworks for the sociological analysis of the social construction of sports by means of the mass communication media, as a result the symbiosis of the competitive sport and show takes place. Degree of innovation: the basic principles and outcomes of the research have been implemented in the curriculum of the sociological faculty of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University for introduced the course "Sociology of Sports" lecturing.
