Prudyus P. Informational provision of medical-diagnostic process for diabetes mellitus patients

Thesis deals with informatization of diagnostic and treatment process of patients with diabetes in a specialized medical institution. A set of criteria for control signals determining for different types of insulin therapy is developed, that enabled to construct algorithm schemes of controlled insulin therapy. Principles of individual functional, diet and drug therapy for person with pre-diabetes and diabetes mellitus of type I and II was developed. There was improved the method of non-invasive blood sugar level measurement by comparing the similarity of a registered photoplethysmogram with patterns, obtained experimentally and stored in the appropriate database. Medical informational system “Automated Policlinic of Endocrinology Health Center” was developed, which can reduce clinic working time spending, increase informational content of diagnostic tests, improve physician’s access to information, speed up e-documenting. Content and structure of information ensuring of the State registry of diabetes mellitus patients is proposed. Thesis results implementation improved the effectiveness of diagnostic and treatment process, in particular: reducing patients’ survey by 19–22 %, increasing health centers throughput by 16–18 %, reducing medical errors amount by 9–10 %.
