Essay

This thesis presents the results of research on improving the technology of lentil cultivation and the study of biological bases of lentil crop formation in Eastern Forest- Steppe of Ukraine. The influence of investigated elements of lentil technology cultivation is determined in the thesis. In particular the influence of sowing norms, sowing methods on formation of photosynthetic and symbiotic indicators is performed the growth and development of plants, the yield formation and quality of lentil seeds. The impact of these factors on energy and cost efficiency is justified in the current research. Based on the results of the research in case of insufficient moisture conditions the variety Krasnogradska 49 with seeding rate at 2.0 million seeds per hectare and usage of planting strip method with 1.72 tons per hectare forms the highest yield of lentils. Usage the planting strip method has increased the lentil grain yield by 15.4%. An increase to the control group was substantial and was equal to 0.20 and 0.23 tons per hectare (НІР 05 = 0,03). In case of sufficient moisture, the variety Krasnogradska 49 gives the highest yield of lentil and grain protein content at the level of 29.9, considering also the seeding rate at 2.5 million seeds per hectare - 1.91 tons per hectare. So, an increase to the control group was 0.38 tons per hectare (НІР 05 = 0,09). High efficiency of lentil cultivation in Eastern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine was presented by energy and economic assessment of technology elements of the varieties during research. According to implemented research the technology project on lentil cultivation in Eastern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine was developed and recommended for production, which allows to provide seed yields at the level of 1,72-1,91 tons per hectare with the high quality indicators. Keywords: lentils, variety, cultivation technology, seed rate, method of sowing, harvesting structure, productivity, seed quality, energy and cost efficiency.
