Essay

The object is the political sphere of Ukraine in beginning of ХХІ century. The aim is an exposure the specific of converting strategies of leading political actors of presidential hustings in Ukraine in 2010 and study the basic laws of influence of different forms of capital on an electorate in modern Ukrainian politics. The methods are analysis of the systems, structural-functional analysis, quality cross-temporal comparative analysis, event- and intent- analysis, "case study". Distinctive features of the presidential campaigns in Ukraine in 2004 and 2010 have been singled out taking into account conversion strategies, used by political actors. The research in question has made it possible to study basic differences and types of presidential campaigns in Ukraine in 2004 and 2010, determine the basic mechanisms of capital conversion in the Ukrainian political framework. Specific features of the individual conversion strategies of the main political actors of Ukraine in 2010 (V.F. Yanukovych, Yu.V. Tymoshenko, S.L. Tigipko, A.P. Yatsenyuk, V.A. Yushchenko) connected with the results of their electoral support during presidential campaign in 2010 have been analyzed. General conversion strategy, applied by the leading political actors during presidential campaign in Ukraine in 2010 has been studied. Application spheres are the practical politics and training courses.
