. The purpose: of the study is to develop a typological basis for the formation of higher education institutions in Iran architectural profile. The object of study - the buildings and structures of higher education institutions of the architectural profile. Subject of study – the spatial-planning organization of higher education institutions of the architectural profile. Survey methodology is based on a comprehensive analysis of the socio-pedagogical, climatic and urban conditions of formation of the learning environment of the architectural faculty profile in the universities of Iran, determination of historical patterns and current requirements for the design of educational institutions. Depending on the tasks, methods and comparative economic and statistical analysis, systematization and generalization, graphical modeling. The scientific novelty of the results: first study of the typological features of educational buildings architectural profile of Iran, which complement the theoretical principles of design education.
