Essay

The aim of the study was to increase the effectiveness of the menstrual cycle recovery and the quality of life in women with PCOS and obesity through the development and introduction into clinical practice of evidence-based differentiated approach to their treatment. Were studied the characteristics of medical history, clinical status, hormonal, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism in women with polycystic ovary syndrome with different types of obesity, assessed their quality of life, proposed scheme of pathogenesis of the syndrome in case of different types of obesity and developed approaches to hormonal therapy. The measures included dietary therapy and the use of statins or insulinsensitizers depending on the type of distribution of subcutaneous fat. The results showed that dietary therapy gives a strong positive effect in women with abdominal obesity, leading to weight loss, normalization of blood pressure, reducing the severity of acne, improving of quality of life. In addition, usage of metformin leads to normalization of carbohydrate metabolism, normalization of the menstrual cycle, while in case of gluteofemoral obesity best effect were observed in case of statins using, which lead to the normalization of the lipid profile and menstrual cycle, reducing the size of the ovaries.
