Essay

The object of the research is the diabetes mellitus type 1 among children of school age, quality of self-control. The aim of the research is to improve the treatment of the type 1 diabetes among school children by developing a set of measures aimed at optimizing the process of learning to self-control the disease. The methods applied are clinical, biochemical, psychological, statistical. For the first time the role of microsocial environment factors to provide compensation in the type 1 diabetes among school children with the psychological adjustment of the child to the disease has been studied. The role of psychosocial factors in the formation and development of diabetic complications has been confirmed and their relationship to metabolic disorders and quality of diabetes self-control has been proved. The interrelation of postprandiand and average daily hyperglycemia of children with diabetes and pathological types of parental relationships has been defined. Subject to the identified psychological characteristics of the child and his or her mother a model of self-control optimization has been suggested and its high efficiency in the type 1 diabetes treatment among children has been proved. The model of self-control training of children with diabetes which includes diagnostic and correction modules to determine physical and psychological components of diabetes among children has been developed. Fields of application: endocrinology, pediatrics, general medicine, medical psychology.
