Malovanyy A. Environamental safe technological processes of ion exchange-biological ammonium nitrogen removal from wastewater

The object of research - processes of nitorgen removal from municipal wastewater. The subject of research - combined ion exchange/biological technology of treatment of wastewater, polluted with ammonium nitrogen. The methods of research - standard chemical methods for analysis of nitrogen forms, electro-chemical methods of dissolved oxygen, conductivity and pH measurement and methods for determining activities of bacteria groups. Moreover the method of experiment planning with building surface of response of multi criteria model was applied using program MODDE 7.0. Level of implementation - the technology is successfully tested in a pilot scale at wastewater treatment research station Hammarby Sjostadsverk (Stockholm, Sweden) and proposed for implementation. Results of the thesis are handed over to TDV "Institute HIRKHIMPROM" for application in designing technologies of municipal wastewater treatment. Area of application - municipal enterprises and industrial enterprises, which generate ammonium-containing wastewaters.
