Knyshenko N. Ukrainian road-building terminology: structure and semantic relations

Object - Ukrainian road-building terminology as a part of the general technical terminology and as a separate branch term system; purpose - to determine peculiarities of structural and semantic relations in Ukrainian road-building terminology from the standpoint of inherent to it systematic organization; methods - descriptive, historical, component analysis, contrastive, comparison and contextual analysis, structural analysis, classification, quantitative analysis method; novelty - for the first time an independent status of the road-building term system as a branch one within the special technical terminology has been substantiated and a unified description of a system of specific and general scientific terms used in the road-building industry on theoretical basis of modern Ukrainian science of terminology has been presented; main features of its structure have been determined and semantic relations between its components have been classified; compendious explanatory dictionary of road-building terms has been compiled; results - practical material, theses and conclusions of the dissertation can be used in terminography, when developing scientific courses on the science of terminology, compiling coursebooks and reference books as well as in the course of training specialists of engineering sciences in the field of "Building" at higher educational establishments; branch - linguistics: terminology
