Subject - the Harry Potter series of books by J. K. Rowling, its translations, its spoofs, and specific perception phenomena. Objective - to describe J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series' reception features in Ukraine and Russia as a popular literature phenomenon. Methods - genetic, comparative, typological, of systemic, structural, intertextual analysis. The reception features of J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series in Russian and Ukraine as a popular literature phenomenon are characterized; the mechanisms of perception and interpretation, which assured the Harry Potter series' popularity are expounded; the research analysis of this phenomenon in English lit-crit is conducted; the series' genre is clarified; the peculiarities of the J. K. Rowling's series translations into Russian and Ukrainian languages are identified; spoofs' specific features for J. K. Rowling's books and the phenomenon of fan fiction as a form of creative reception are characterized; the peculiarities of J. K. Rowling's series theoretical reception in Ukraine and Russia are specified in the dissertation. Scope - academic activity.
